Vocational Teacher for Health and Care Education

Umevux is Umeå Municipality's largest adult education provider.

We offer flexible and individualized learning at basic and upper secondary levels.

The basic education in health and care, with about 250 students, provides fundamental competencies for work in health and care as well as in healthcare. The teaching is individualized and offered in various study forms, including studies with teacher supervision and distance learning. Information technology is a foundation for learning within upper secondary and adult education and a natural part of everyday life.

The health and care education is part of the Umeå region's Health and Care College, an established collaboration aimed at developing education and operations within health and care. We are now looking for a vocational teacher for the health and care education!

Your Responsibilities

In adult education, things are always moving. We have continuous admission and a flexible approach to learning. You will teach students in subjects within the framework of the health and care education. The work involves planning and implementing teaching based on national governing documents and goals, as well as scientific foundations and proven experience. We actively work to design and develop our courses in close collaboration with the industry. As a teacher, you will work based on a flexible and individualized learning approach.

About You

We are primarily looking for someone who is an educated and licensed health teacher or someone with extensive experience in health and care who plans to study or is currently studying to become a vocational teacher. You have good knowledge and competence in IT and see digital learning as an important tool for students' knowledge acquisition. Experience in teaching within adult education is an advantage.

You have a good command of the Swedish language in both spoken and written form, as well as a B driver's license.

You have a strong commitment and interest in working with people from diverse cultural backgrounds, the ability to tailor your teaching, and be creative. To succeed in this role, you are clear and good at creating and maintaining good relationships with both students, colleagues, and our external partners. You have a flexible working style and are accustomed to shifting focus quickly when necessary. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
